A downloadable game

Welcome to the devlog of Doggo Islands!

Allow me to introduce myself and this project! This is an ambitious project that I am working hard on every other day. This is a page that I may or may not update, depending on if there's anyone curious about this project or not. Otherwise I'll probably spend more of my time actually developing this piece of art!

Who am I?

My name is Avalin, and I'm a programmer, 2D pixel artist, game developer & AR/VR content creator. I started out only being a pixel artist, but full of all these wonderful ideas for games - however I knew no programmers who could, or wanted to help me execute them.  So I decided to educate myself on the subject so that I could be a solo game developer in all it's power! However as I also have a job to attend to in the best hours of the day, studying, learning and a lot of other things to deal with, this is what I would call an ambitious project that I do hope I can deliver a beta on, one day.

Okay, but what is Doggo Islands?

In it's current state, it is nothing but a cartoonish chatroom with funnily colored cats. However hopefully, that is not the final state of Doggo Islands! Writing everything here would probably subject to a whole wall of text (and potential idea theft) so I'm not going to. What I will reveal however is that following bullet points are buzzwords in regards to this project:

  • Chatworld
  • Customization options
  • Events based on seasons/holidays + more
  • Idle game elements
  • Mini-games
  • Grinds (But not necessarily boring nor repetitive!)
  • NSFW elements (cartoon style)
  • Acquiring higher ranks & Unlocking new abilities

On a final note

As much as I am a solo developer and artist on this game, I have and continue to receive tremendous amounts of help and support from both my friend(s) and my beloved boyfriend. Currently he is helping me make server code work, and he is also working on some cool bit-tunes SFX/Music and more for the game! So thankfully, I'm not all alone!
